Fortuna Dusseldorf have completed the season-long capture of Ukraine international Andriy Voronin from Dinamo Moscow.
The 33-year-old said that he was delighted to be reunited with Norbert Meier, whom he played under at Borussia Monchengladbach.
"Norbert Meier took me from the youth team to the professionals and I celebrated my Bundesliga debut under him," said Voronin.
"Therefore, the fact that Norbert is coach of Fortuna played a decisive role in my decision.
"I am delighted to be returning to the Bundesliga."
Voronin was contracted to Liverpool between 2007 and 2010.
