Ivan Perisic is "mentally tired" but has not expressed a desire to leave Inter Milan, according to Nerazzurri boss Luciano Spalletti.

Luciano Spalletti has said that Manchester United-linked winger Ivan Perisic has offered no indication that he wants to leave Inter Milan.

The Croatia international is rumoured to be back on the Red Devils' radar following his impressive World Cup campaign for the runners-up.

United boss Jose Mourinho praised Perisic for his displays in Russia and confessed that he previously wanted to sign the 29-year-old, but Spalletti does not anticipate a switch of clubs, which is also the case for star striker Mauro Icardi.

"Icardi and Perisic are the pillars of our side? Yes, I think so," he told Rai Sports. "They are two exceptional professionals, two firm points of reference of the team, which have determined the growth of the Inter. The team has become more tough thanks to them.

"There have been moments that have consolidated the friendship between the players. From the point of view of quality and friendship, I have a nice group at my disposal.

"In the last few days I talked to Perisic who finished the celebrations, he told me he is mentally tired and in terms of energy. He must recover but he has not told me anything that concerns his desire to stay here in Milan."

Perisic was Croatia's best performer in their 4-2 defeat to France in last weekend's final at the Luzhniki Stadium.
