Liverpool's attempts to sign Donyell Malen from PSV Eindhoven could reportedly be threatened if Jadon Sancho joins Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund.

Liverpool could supposedly be thwarted in their attempts to sign PSV Eindhoven's Donyell Malen if Manchester United pull off a deal for Jadon Sancho.

The protracted transfer saga surrounding Sancho finally appears to be nearing an end, as the Red Devils are thought to be close to agreeing an £80m deal for the Borussia Dortmund attacker.

Sancho's move to Old Trafford could have a knock-on effect on their Premier League rivals, though, as Dortmund are supposedly keen to strike a deal for Malen as a replacement for the Englishman.

Liverpool are supposedly planning to open talks over the ex-Arsenal protege, but The Mirror speculates that Dortmund could now jump to the head of the queue for Malen's signature.

The report claims that the Black and Yellow would be able to provide the Netherlands international with more first-team opportunities than at Liverpool, where he would have to compete with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

Malen registered 27 goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances for PSV last season, and the Dutch attacker already has two assists to his name at Euro 2020.
