Oxford United have completed the loan signing of Sean McGinty from Premier League side Manchester United.

The versatile defender, who has not made a senior appearance for the Red Devils, will spend the next six months at the Kassam Stadium.

Having sealed the addition of the 18-year-old, Oxford manager Chris Wilder praised the relationship that his club has with United.

"Sean is a player I have watched on more than one occasion and he is a good player who has always impressed me," he told the club's official website. "He is very highly rated and will come into the group and give us another strong option.

"It's another example of the excellent relationship we have with Manchester United and we look forward to working with him."

McGinty has joined the U's immediately and could even make his debut during tonight's pre-season friendly against West Ham United.
