Manchester United are reportedly still interested in signing Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, but will wait until next summer to make a £90m move.

Manchester United have reportedly shelved any plans to make a bid for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale until next summer.

The Red Devils have held a long-standing interest in the Wales international and were once again linked with a big-money move for him earlier this summer.

However, The Express claims that United boss Jose Mourinho would prefer to wait another year before offering Bale the chance to return to the Premier League in a £90m deal.

Bale's future at the Bernabeu is reportedly uncertain after a string of injuries last season saw Isco handed the opportunity to shine, while the club's pursuit of Kylian Mbappe could push him further down the pecking order.

Manager Zinedine Zidane is willing to sacrifice Bale should the club land Mbappe, although this summer United are more interested in signing Inter Milan's Ivan Perisic.

The Europa League champions have only signed two new players so far this summer, with Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku joining for a combined fee of more than £100m.
