Juventus are confident in completing a three-year deal to bring Paul Pogba back to the club on a free transfer deal from Manchester United, according to a report.

Juventus have become confident in completing a three-year deal to bring Paul Pogba back to the club on a free transfer deal from Manchester United, according to a report.

It was confirmed on Wednesday that Pogba would leave Old Trafford upon the expiry of his contract in June for a second time, having previously left the Red Devils for the Serie A side back in the summer of 2012.

The 29-year-old's departure brings an end to a largely disappointing second stint at United, with the French World Cup winner failing to live up to the hype in the views of many.

However, many of Pogba's most successful years arrived in Turin with Juventus, and a return to Italy has been touted as the most likely destination for the midfielder this summer, and Sky Sports News are reporting that the Old Lady are confident of completing the deal.

The report suggests that a verbal agreement has been agreed on a three-year contract for Pogba at Juventus, following discussions with Rafaela Pimenta, who has been representing Pogba since Mino Raiola's passing.

Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also reportedly been interested in a move for the free agent, but the report outlines how Juventus believe that unless a dramatic change of heart occurs, they have won the race.

Pogba won four successive Scudetto titles with Juventus between 2012 and 2016, before he returned to United for a then-world-record fee of around £89m.
