Swansea City winger Daniel James deletes a year-old tweet praising Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in the week he was linked with a move to Manchester United.

Rumoured Manchester United target Daniel James has sparked rumours that he could be on his way to Old Trafford by deleting a tweet that praised Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

The Swansea City winger has been linked with a £15m switch to the Red Devils after an impressive breakthrough campaign at Championship level.

Following this week's rumours that United have set their sights on James, a tweet from the Wales international surfaced from last season that read: "Salah is some player," alongside a fire emoji.

A United fan asked the 21-year-old to delete the tweet and, according to The Mirror, he obliged.

Asked about the links with James at his weekly press conference on Friday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told reporters: "I don't know how many names have been mentioned since I've come in.

"There are players I've barely seen that I've read we are going to sign. There's loads of speculation.

"I can't comment on every single individual. Many players, as I've said. I don't like when other managers talk about my players and I wouldn't talk about others, even if I wasn't or if I was interested."

Manchester City are also rumoured to be in the running to sign James, who has seven assists and four goals in the second tier this season.
