Radamel Falcao 'will sign for elite club if he leaves Manchester United'

Radamel Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes insists that the striker will join another elite club if Manchester United decide against permanently signing him in the summer.

Radamel Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes has claimed that the Colombian will sign for one of the world's best clubs if he leaves Manchester United in the summer.

The 29-year-old joined the Red Devils from Monaco on a season-long loan last summer, and was widely expected to sign a permanent deal at the end of the season.

However, Mendes has suggested that the £43m-rated striker may not be kept on at Old Trafford and has claimed that if Sir Alex Ferguson were still manager at United, Falcao would have more goals to his name.

Mendes told ESPN Deportes: "I miss Ferguson at Manchester United. With him and this squad the situation would be different.

"I know that if they give Falcao five complete matches, I am convinced that he would score goals in practically all of those matches. If Falcao does not stay in Manchester, he will be at one of the other five or six best teams in the world."

Falcao has scored four goals in 16 Premier League appearances under Louis van Gaal.
