Aston Villa reportedly become the latest club to join the race to sign Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard, who is currently impressing on loan at West Ham United.

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Aston Villa.

The England international has made a remarkable impact on loan at West Ham United since January, contributing nine goals and three assists from just 10 Premier League appearances.

United may now look to negotiate a new deal with Lingard in a bid to fend off increasing interest in his signature.

However, according to Football Insider, Villa are the latest club to identify the 28-year-old as a possible addition later in 2021.

The report suggests that the West Midlands outfit value Lingard's versatility in the final third at a time when they are looking for extra creative options.

The playmaker's contract at Old Trafford is due to expire at the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
