Xavi: 'Pep Guardiola will be a success in Premier League'

Barcelona legend Xavi has no doubts that Pep Guardiola will be a success in England having confirmed his desire to manage in the Premier League.

Barcelona legend Xavi has insisted that Pep Guardiola will be a success in the Premier League.

The Bayern Munich boss last month confirmed that he would be leaving the Allianz Arena at the end of the season, and has since revealed that his reason for doing so is a desire to manage in the Premier League.

Xavi is unsurprised by the two-time Champions League winner's ambition to move to England, and believes that he will enjoy as much success in the Premier League as he has with Barcelona and Bayern during a trophy-laden career.

"When I was at Barcelona we would always be talking about the Premier League, and our respect for the quality of the teams, the players, and the pace the game was played at," Xavi told The Mirror.

"Even when he was at Barcelona, you could see it was his dream to one day manage in England.

"I don't think it is even a question if he will be a success in England or not. Of course he will be, like he is a success everywhere."

Manchester City are considered the favourites to appoint Guardiola at the end of the season, although Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have also been linked with the Spaniard.
