Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen insists that Manchester United will still be looking to claim all three points against them today despite wrapping up the title.

Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen has insisted that Manchester United will still want to win when the sides face each other at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

Sir Alex Ferguson's team were crowned Premier League champions on Monday night following their 3-0 win over Aston Villa.

However, despite already wrapping up the title, United will still be chasing all three points, believes Vermaelen, who also admits that his side will have to perform well.

The Belgian international said: "The first thing is always to look at yourself and how you are going to perform, so I don't see it as a big deal that they have already won the title.

"While we congratulate them, we can't worry too much about that. Both teams are hugely competitive and will want to win the game, so we will need to be at our best."

Vermaelen is hoping for a recall to the starting lineup for this afternoon's clash.
