Louis Saha: 'Manchester United new boy Anthony Martial to emulate Thierry Henry'

Man United new boy Anthony Martial can devastate the Premier League in the same manner as Thierry Henry once did, according to Louis Saha.

Louis Saha has claimed that Manchester United new boy Anthony Martial can have as big an impact in the Premier League as Thierry Henry did.

Martial, 19, became the world's most expensive teenager on Tuesday when the Red Devils splashed out £36m - which could rise to £58m - to sign him from AS Monaco.

Comparisons between the Gunners' all-time record goalscorer have been made, and Saha, who spent four years at Old Trafford, says that the young Frenchman has the qualities needed to take England by storm.

"He's got that speed, that power, he's got that youth in him so he'll surprise a lot of defenders because they don't know him," the ex-France international is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "It's a great asset for Manchester United and that's what they needed because up front they lack speed sometimes.

"In France we call him the next Thierry Henry because he can play left or right, he's got a great ability with the ball, he can take on three, four players with ease, there is no problem. At the same time, the new generation have no fear.

"He's got such an ability that he can win trophies for Manchester United I believe that, but I don't want to put too much pressure on him."

Martial, who signed a four-year deal with United, began his career with Les Ulis - the same amateur club that nurtured Henry, who scored 228 goals for Arsenal.
