Jose Mourinho: 'Manchester United's start to Premier League means nothing'

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho plays down the significance of his side's excellent start to the Premier League campaign.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that his side have done "nothing" in the race for the Premier League title.

United have recorded six wins and one draw from their opening seven fixtures, although the North-West outfit are yet to face opponents who are considered to be a direct rival for the top-flight crown.

Mourinho has acknowledged the good start from his team, but insisted that there is much work ahead if the club are to remain at the top of the standings.

"Nothing has happened yet, last year it started harder and it turned out really well," the 54-year-old told Record.

"This year it has started really well, but we do not know how it's going to end. In another championship, this would mean almost the title, but in England it means nothing."

United are next in action when they play fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, October 14.
