Ian Holloway tips Wilfred Zaha to become a Manchester United "legend"

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway feels that Wilfred Zaha can become known as a "legend" at Manchester United.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway feels that Wilfred Zaha is good enough to become a legendary figure at Manchester United.

The winger signed for United from Palace in January before eventually joining up with his new team in the close season and Holloway, who managed Zaha at the Eagles, thinks that the winger can be good enough to become a "legend" at Old Trafford.

"Everything I've seen since he arrived at Old Trafford suggests to me he will start the season in their first team and I honestly believe he is going to become a legend at the club," Holloway told Goal.com.

"Had he not been with us last season I don't think we would have made it into the Premier League. He has that bit extra that makes all the difference. He's one of those rare players who changes games.

"I was intrigued in the Community Shield when he tried to play a clever back heel which didn't work. The first player over to him was Ryan Giggs clearly saying: 'Don't do that again, son'. That's how it always used to be in the old days and it was brilliant, senior players taking the younger players in hand and looking after them - with that sort of attention Wilf is going to grow fast."

Zaha signed for the champions for a fee believed to be around £15m.
