France boss Didier Deschamps says that Paul Pogba needs time to adapt to life back at Manchester United before showing his best form.

France boss Didier Deschamps has insisted that Paul Pogba will need time to adapt to life back in England before producing his best performances for Manchester United.

The midfielder re-joined Man United from Juventus for a world-record fee this summer and has scored once in eight appearances for the Red Devils at the start of the new season.

Deschamps claims that there is too much expectation on Pogba and says that the 23-year-old "needs to find his bearing with his new teammates" before showing his best form.

"He has changed his club team and needs to find his bearing with his new teammates," Deschamps told reporters.

"With Paul, we always expect more. When he does something neutral, often it is not enough. He is someone we expect to make assists in every game - there is an expectation that is too large. Paul is okay in his own head. He knows what he wants."

Pogba is currently on international duty with France ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Netherlands.
