Faustino Asprilla backs Radamel Falcao to succeed

Faustino Asprilla is confident that compatriot Radamel Falcao will be a success at Manchester United.

Faustino Asprilla has stated his belief that compatriot Radamel Falcao will be successful at Manchester United.

The Colombian striker completed a deadline-day loan move to United from Monaco despite a serious knee injury sidelining him for eight months last season.

Asprilla, who played in the Premier League for Newcastle United during the mid-1990s, is confident that Falcao will put his injury problems behind him.

"I think it's fair to say Falcao's move to Manchester United took everybody by surprise but I'm sure they have selected the right man to help the team," Asprilla told Sky Sports News.

"He's a great goalscorer, a natural finisher and he is among the best in the world in that position.

"He will be fine because he has had ample time to recover and his therapy has been great so he should be 100%. I'm sure he will do very well for Manchester United."

Falcao scored two goals in three appearances for Monaco this season before moving to Old Trafford.
