Sergio Aguero: 'Our fans are happy with fourth if we beat Manchester United'

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero claims that the club's fans would be happy with a fourth-place finish in the Premier League as long as they beat Manchester United.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has claimed that as many as "80 or 90%" of the club's fans would be happy to see them finish fourth as long as they beat local rivals Manchester United this evening.

City travel to their neighbours looking to close the gap on Premier League leaders Chelsea to three points.

Aguero told FourFourTwo: "For us, the three points are fundamental for the title race.

"As players, we want to win the league, and won't stop fighting until that's done, but for some fans the first thing they think about are the games against United. Derbies are always fantastic occasions for all involved.

"For the fans, these games are about a little bit more. A lot of people, I'd say 80 or 90% would be okay with us finishing fourth if we beat United."
