Joe Hart suggests that he is unlikely to return to Manchester City after joining Torino on a season-long loan in the summer.

Joe Hart has suggested that he will not play for Manchester City again after he left the club to join Torino on a season-long loan in the summer.

England's number one goalkeeper was informed by manager Pep Guardiola that he was not going to feature regularly at the Etihad Stadium under the Spaniard's leadership.

After the club brought in Claudio Bravo from Barcelona, it became clear that Hart was not wanted, which prompted the 29-year-old to seek a move to Italy.

Hart's loan deal is due to expire next summer, so the shot-stopper is keeping his options open.

"I'm not here to prove what I can do, I'm here because I need to look elsewhere and I didn't have a chance to sort anything permanently," he said in an interview with Sky Sports News. "The way I look at it, I want to do as well as I can for Torino and if somebody comes in for me I don't think Manchester City are going to stand in my way.

"I came in after the other players because of the Euros, and when we first had a conversation [Guardiola] said he had his reservations about me. I shook his hand, I said it was professionally honest, but not what I wanted to hear.

"I said I wanted to work for him and see what happens but I got the impression that it wasn't really going anywhere. I got the feeling I wasn't going to play. I spoke to the chief executive and said, 'You want me to go don't you?' He didn't stop me with what I was saying."

Reports have claimed that Torino have been so impressed with Hart that they want to extend the loan until the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
