Yaya Toure asks to not be named in Ivory Coast as midfielder considers future

Yaya Toure is considering his international future and has requested to not be included in the next Ivory Coast squad, according to national coach Michel Dussuyer.

Yaya Toure is considering his international future, according to Ivory Coast coach Michel Dussuyer.

The Manchester City midfielder has 95 caps to his name, but has requested not to be included in the Ivory Coast squad for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone.

"At the moment he's in a period of reflection about his international future," Dussuyer revealed. "I met him in London and told him I was counting on him.

"He's a big player and the captain of the team. I hope he'll continue his adventure with us."

Toure first considered retiring from international football in 2012, but continued on to captain his country to their first Africa Cup of Nations triumph since 1992 earlier this year.
