Manchester City's Sergio Aguero: 'I cannot afford to hurry return from injury'

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero insists that he will not hurry his return to fitness due to fears of missing out on the World Cup in Brazil.

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has insisted that he will not rush his return from injury due to fears of missing out at the World Cup for Argentina.

The 25-year-old has been out of action since aggravating a hamstring injury during City's Champions League exit to Barcelona on March 12.

"With this recovery I am trying to do my best to be able to play again, but I cannot do it in a hurry," Aguero told DirecTV.

"I do think to myself if something happens now, I will lose the rest of the Premier League season and the World Cup."

Aguero has not featured in a league fixture since the end of January.
