Lyon consider an approach for Nice manager Patrick Vieira, according to a report.

Lyon are reportedly considering an approach for Nice manager Patrick Vieira.

The former Arsenal captain has been in charge of Nice since last year and led the French outfit to an eighth-place finish in Ligue 1 last season.

Current Lyon boss Bruno Genesio will see his contract expire this summer, leading to suggestions that there will be a new face in the dugout at the start of the 2019-2020 campaign.

According to nicematin.com, the recent exits of Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere and general manager Julien Fournier have led to Vieira considering his future at the Allianz Riviera, which has attracted the attention of Lyon.

Lyon held Barcelona to a goalless draw in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie on Tuesday night.

Les Gones are currently third in Ligue 1, five positions ahead of Nice after 25 matches of the 2018-19 campaign.
