Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori joins Aston Villa on loan

Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori joins fellow Premier League side Aston Villa on a season-long loan.

Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori has sealed a deadline-day loan switch to Aston Villa, it has been confirmed.

The Portuguese centre-back, who was born in London, joined the Reds from Sporting Lisbon two years ago, but is yet to make a senior appearance for the Anfield outfit.

Villa manager Tim Sherwood told the club's official website: "I am very pleased to bring Tiago into the football club.

"He's someone I have been aware of for some time and I am looking forward to working with him. I believe he will enhance the group here."

Ilori, who has also spent time on loan at Granada and Bordeaux, has represented Portugal at various youth levels up until Under-21.
