Damien Comolli tells Raheem Sterling to stop worrying about money and sign a new deal with Liverpool.

Former Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli has urged Raheem Sterling to sign a new contract with the club.

The 18-year-old has impressed since breaking into the first-team picture, and has attracted interest from a number of clubs, including Arsenal.

The winger's wage demands are the stumbling block, according to reports, but Comolli has warned Sterling that he doesn't need to worry about money at his age.

"My advice would be sign the contract and stay at Liverpool," Comolli told talkSPORT. "It is a great club. Unless there is something which makes him really uncomfortable he should sign the contract and play for Liverpool Football Club.

"I really don't think money should be an issue. He is 18 and it is going to be one of many, many contracts he is going to sign and he is going to end up being a very, very wealthy individual.

"The important contract, if you are money-orientated, is the one you sign when you are 31, not 18."

Sterling has enjoyed a breakthrough season so far at Anfield, scoring his first Premier League goal and making his full England debut.
