AC Milan are reportedly ready to rival Liverpool for Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio during one of the upcoming transfer windows.

Real Madrid midfielder Marco Asensio has reportedly remained as a transfer target for AC Milan.

The Italian giants, who have earned a return to the Champions League, held an interest in Asensio earlier this summer before the Spaniard remained at the Bernabeu.

However, with less than two years remaining on his Los Blancos contract, it is unclear whether the playmaker will choose to extend his period in Spain.

At a time when Liverpool are also said to be contemplating a bid, Todofichajes.com says that Milan could make a fresh approach next year.

Milan allegedly favour a proposal which would first see them loan Asensio with an obligation to buy.

I Rossoneri may have to make their move during the January window for any such deal to prove attractive to Madrid.
