Saturday's Premier League predictions including Newcastle vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Premier League fixtures, including Newcastle vs. Liverpool.

Two of the Premier League's in-form sides kick off the next round of fixtures on Saturday lunchtime, as Newcastle United play host to Liverpool at St James' Park.

The Magpies put three unanswered goals past Norwich City last time out, while Jurgen Klopp's side defeated Villarreal 2-0 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

We say: Newcastle United 1-3 Liverpool

An altered Liverpool XI coupled with Newcastle's stellar run both in recent weeks and at home in 2022 means that a shock result is not beyond the realm of possibility this week, and at the very least, the Magpies should find a way through the Reds' backline here.

However, Klopp's side were thoroughly professional in midweek, and the German coach has a wealth of top-quality options to freshen the team up, so we can only picture the Merseysiders temporarily returning to the summit with all three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.

Aston Villa vs. Norwich (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Norwich City could become the first club to be relegated from the Premier League this season when they travel to Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon.

The Canaries lost 3-0 at home to Newcastle United last time out, while Steven Gerrard's side halted their losing run away to Leicester City.

We say: Aston Villa 2-1 Norwich City

Norwich should be up for the fight this weekend against a Villa side who have not had the winning formula in recent weeks, and it is difficult to back the Lions to post a convincing win amid their struggles at both ends of the pitch.

However, the Canaries are on the brink of conceding a whopping 70 goals in the Premier League this season, and a refreshed set of attacking options from the home side should get the job done and potentially send their former Championship rivals back down.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Southampton vs. Crystal Palace (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Two sides still with a bit of work to do to assure themselves of safety in the Premier League prepare for battle at St Mary's on Saturday lunchtime, as Southampton play host to Crystal Palace.

The Saints rescued a 2-2 draw away to Brighton & Hove Albion last time out, while Patrick Vieira's side played out a goalless stalemate at home to Leeds United.

We say: Southampton 1-1 Crystal Palace

Winning games on the road has been a sticky point for Palace all season long, and their tag of resident draw specialists could certainly ring true in a fixture where the spoils are often shared.

It is difficult to back Southampton with any real confidence either given their mixed bag of results and devastating injury to Livramento, so we can only predict another stalemate between the two sides here.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Watford vs. Burnley (Saturday, 3.00pm)

A crucial battle at the foot of the Premier League table takes place at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon, as Burnley seek to more or less condemn Watford to the drop.

The Hornets head into this game nine points adrift of safety in 19th spot, while the Clarets are hovering just two points above the dotted line.

We say: Watford 1-2 Burnley

Finding the back of the net at the Etihad should give Watford the belief that they can make the net ripple at least once in a game with so much at stake, but a revitalised Burnley are sure to take advantage of the Hornets' ongoing defensive woes.

It has been nothing but defeat after defeat for Watford in front of their own fans recently, and while Hodgson will rally his troops as best he can, their fate should be virtually sealed as Burnley boost their own hopes of survival.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Wolves vs. Brighton (Saturday, 3.00pm)

Wolverhampton Wanderers will welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Molineux for their Premier League encounter on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts will be looking to claim back-to-back league victories on home soil for the first time since November, while the visitors will be seeking to secure their third away win in four matches, having already beaten Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur on the road this month.

We say: Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 Brighton & Hove Albion

Both sides will be keen to return to winning ways this weekend, with the hosts still pushing for a top-seven spot, while the visitors remain in the hunt to finish inside the top half.

However, a closely-fought contest is set to be played out at Molineux and with little to separate the two teams, a score draw could be on the cards.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Leeds vs. Man City (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Manchester City's Bernardo Silva celebrates scoring their fourth goal with teammates on April 26, 2022© Reuters

Manchester City will be looking to remain in the driving seat for the Premier League title when they travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Saturday evening.

The Citizens came out on top in a seven-goal thriller against Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals in midweek, while the Whites played out a goalless draw away at Crystal Palace on Monday.

We say: Leeds United 1-3 Manchester City

Man City should expect a hostile atmosphere from the Elland Road faithful and a tougher test this time around against a resurgent Leeds side, who could play a significant role in both the title race and relegation battle if they were to claim all three points on Saturday.

However, the Citizens still seem too strong for the Whites and should have enough quality in their side to win comfortably, even if one or two star names are rotated.

Our tipster partners are predicting an away win.
