Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says that he was "proud" of his players for coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has said that he was "proud" of his players for coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Chelsea in Tuesday night's Premier League clash at Anfield.

Georginio Wijnaldum cancelled out a first-half free kick from David Luiz as Liverpool ended a run of three straight defeats with a point against the runaway Premier League leaders.

Klopp refused to admit that he was "happy" with the draw on Merseyside, but the former Borussia Dortmund head coach praised his players for showing character after falling behind to the capital side.

"I'm not sure happy is the right word to say how I'm feeling, but I'm proud of the boys because they did outstanding things against a really good side. We did really well, the result we cannot change. We could have lost because it was a penalty," Klopp told BT Sport.

"In the second half we caused them problems, we could have scored a second time or a third time. I'm happy we could give this sign and create this atmosphere. It was a good performance."

Liverpool, who remain fourth in the Premier League table, will attempt to return to winning ways when they travel to an improving Hull City at the weekend.
