Jurgen Klopp: "I feel really good"

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists that he is fighting fit after his brief spell in hospital earlier this week.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he is fighting fit following a spell in hospital earlier this week.

The 50-year-old admitted himself to hospital on Wednesday after feeling unwell but was released later in the day and took training as usual on Thursday.

The German was in attendance for his regular Friday afternoon press conference today and told reporters that he is feeling "really good".

"I'm 50 now, maybe I need to get used to it," he joked. "It's twice now that I've been in a British hospital. People say about the NHS - it's not as bad as you think. I really have to thank a lot of people there - they were really nice.

"I have nothing to say about that though. I'm not ill. I'm not sure if you're happy about that but I think it's kind of good news.

"The only problem is you should not try to go somewhere like a hospital if you are a public persona because the whole world is talking about it. It was not a marketing thing for Liverpool!"

The Reds host Southampton at Anfield on Saturday afternoon looking to make it three back-to-back victories in the Premier League for the first time this season.
