Roy Hodgson not expecting warm Anfield welcome

West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson is not expecting many pleasant greetings from the Liverpool faithful when he returns to Anfield on Sunday.

West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson is expecting a poor reception from the home fans when he returns to Anfield tomorrow for the first time since being sacked as Liverpool manager.

The 64-year-old took charge of the Reds following the departure of Rafael Benitez in the summer of 2010, but he was sacked just six months and 31 games later with the Merseyside club 12th in the table.

Hodgson's Baggies side visit Liverpool on Sunday and he is not anticipating a friendly reunion.

He said: "There is no reason to give me a good reception because they didn't like me when I was there. I can't see they are going to like me now.

"There aren't that many people I worked with that are still there and people like Damien Comolli have moved on.

"But it will be nice to see one or two players I worked with."

Hodgson's reign as Liverpool manager was the shortest in the club's history.
