Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa suggests that he will instruct his side to 'impose themselves' in their Championship fixtures this season.

Boss Marcelo Bielsa has suggested that his Leeds United side will look to 'impose themselves' in Championship fixtures this season.

The arrival of former Argentina coach Bielsa has resulted in increased expectations at Elland Road, and Leeds have started the new campaign with an impressive 3-1 victory over Stoke City.

Leeds looked to play with a fast tempo in the game against the Potters, and Bielsa has indicated that his side will continue to play in the same manner.

At a press conference, Bielsa told reporters: "This is my goal. You balance your goal depending on the behaviour of your opponent. If you have a team that wants to dominate and impose its style and you have another team which prefers to speculate, or wait, it's easier to play like that.

"If both teams wait, or if both teams have big ambitions, it's harder to impose your ideas. I tell you that because in the next games, if we can't impose our style it would mean that the opponent prevents us from imposing our ideas, not because we don't try to."

Leeds are next in action when they face Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday evening.
