Alex Neil expects more respect for Hamilton Academical

Hamilton Academical manager Alex Neil believes that his team will be shown more respect this season following their win over Celtic.

Hamilton Academical manager Alex Neil has revealed that he expects his team to be shown more respect following their recent win over Celtic.

The Accies moved to the top of the Scottish Premiership table on Sunday as they earned a 1-0 victory over the champions at Celtic Park.

Neil believes that other sides in the top flight will now be more wary when they come up against his players this season.

"After Sunday I think teams will give us a bit more respect. They will think Hamilton are a good side and you are going to have to play well to beat them," he told Sky Sports News.

"And that is how we will approach every game. We will give our opposition the respect they're due. However, when the whistle goes we will go and try and impose ourselves on them... and try and win."

Hamilton are back in action on October 17 with the visit of Aberdeen in the league.
