Ghana suspend Kevin-Prince Boateng, Sulley Muntari indefinitely

The Ghana Football Association suspends Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari indefinitely following their expulsion from the World Cup squad.

Ghana have announced that Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari have been suspended from the international side indefinitely after being dismissed from the World Cup squad earlier today.

The midfielders left the team's hotel today following incidents during training ahead of their final group match against Portugal, which takes place this evening.

A statement on the Ghana FA's website said: "The Ghana Football Association has suspended Sulley Ali Muntari indefinitely from the Black Stars with immediate effect.

"The decision was taken in the wake of his unprovoked physical attack on an Executive Committee member of the GFA and a management member of the Black Stars, Mr Moses Armah on Tuesday June 24, 2014 during a meeting.

"The Ghana Football Association has approved coach Kwesi Appiah's decision to suspend Kevin-Prince Boateng indefinitely from the Black Stars. The decision takes immediate effect.

"The decision was taken following Boateng's vulgar verbal insults targeted at coach Kwesi Appiah during the team's training session in Maceio this week. Boateng has since showed no remorse for his actions which has resulted in the decision."

The team have a chance to reach the last 16, but need other results to go their way.
