Chris Coleman backs Kit Symons for Fulham job

Chris Coleman says that he would like to see Kit Symons given the chance to manage Fulham, insisting that it is what the club needs.

Wales boss Chris Coleman believes that Kit Symons is a perfect fit for the vacant managerial position at Fulham.

The 43-year-old took temporary charge of the Cottagers following the dismissal of Felix Magath last month, earning two successive victories in the Championship to see the club move up to 22nd place.

Symons made clear following last night's 4-0 win over fellow strugglers Bolton Wanderers that he would like the job on a full-time basis, with Coleman backing his fellow Welshman for the job.

"I think he really wants the job and I'd like to see him get the chance," Coleman, who himself managed the West London outfit for five years, told BBC Sport. "I think he would be good for Fulham. I think it's what Fulham needs, someone like Kit who absolutely loves the club at heart."

Fulham take on Middlesbrough on the weekend in their final game before the international break.
