Everton sign young winger Josh Bowler from Queens Park Rangers on a three-year deal, putting him straight into their Under-23s squad for the new season.

Everton have completed the signing of young winger Josh Bowler from Queens Park Rangers on a three-year deal.

The 18-year-old rejected the offer of a new contract at Loftus Road at the end of last season, opening the door for the Toffees to push through a move.

After reportedly having at least one previous offer turned down, the Premier League outfit have now landed the youngster for a fee of around £4.25m.

Bowler was handed his first-team debut by QPR in May, being introduced for the final 21 minutes of a Championship clash against Norwich City, but he has now been snapped up by Everton and will go straight into the Under-23s squad.

Speaking to his new side's official website, he said: "I'm really excited to join Everton – it's a fantastic opportunity for me. This is a club on the up at every level. I can't wait to get started, meet the other lads and begin working with David Unsworth.

"I'm a direct player, I feel like I can bring excitement in the final third and this is the perfect place for me to continue my education and development."

Bowler becomes the fourth player introduced to Everton's youth ranks this summer, joining Nathangelo Markelo, Anton Donkor and Boris Mathis.
