Julian Speroni delighted by "key" Crystal Palace victory

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni praises the side for earning a "key" 1-0 win over Leicester in the Premier League.

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni has praised the team for picking up a "really key" victory over Leicester City.

The Eagles made it three wins from their last four Premier League games on Saturday thanks to a 1-0 triumph at the King Power Stadium.

With Palace in 13th place in the table, Speroni believes that the result will give them a "big boost" in pushing into the top half over the coming weeks.

"A really pleasing performance and not only was it important that we kept a clean sheet but at the other end we got the all important goal to win the match," he told the club's official website.

"A really key three points for us in a game like this and everyone could see how much each team wanted the result so to come away with a good result is a big boost for our squad."

Palace are back in action on Wednesday when they entertain Newcastle United.
