Daniel Sturridge is free to leave Liverpool on loan in January in a bid to get first-team football ahead of the World Cup, according to a report.

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly given Daniel Sturridge the green light to leave Liverpool on loan in January.

The 28-year-old has struggled for first-team minutes this season, making just five starts and nine substitute appearances in all competitions.

According to The Sun, Sturridge is desperate for game time in a bid to remain in contention for Gareth Southgate's England World Cup squad, and Klopp is happy for the forward to do so away from Anfield.

The report goes on to claim that the former Chelsea and Manchester City striker could now look at a loan move in the second half of the season, with the Reds looking to get his £125,000-a-week wages covered.

Blues boss Antonio Conte is believed to be interested in Sturridge's services, while AC Milan, Valencia and Real Betis are also credited with having the Englishman on their radar.
