Real Madrid 'switch attention to £60m Hugo Lloris'

Real Madrid reportedly turn their attention to a £60m swoop for Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, despite previous speculation of a move for Thibaut Courtois.

Real Madrid have reportedly made Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris their number one choice to replace Keylor Navas this summer, despite previous reports linking them with a move for Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois.

Courtois was thought to have been close to sealing a return to the Spanish capital, where he previously spent three years on loan with Real's city rivals Atletico Madrid.

However, The Mirror reports that the European champions have now switched their attention to Lloris and are readying a £60m bid for the France World Cup-winning captain.

Such a deal would make Lloris the second-most expensive goalkeeper of all time, behind only Alisson Becker following his £67m move to Liverpool earlier this month.

Lloris is understood to be open to the move, although Spurs are unwilling to sell their skipper and the prospect of negotiating with chairman Daniel Levy could put Madrid off pursuing it any further.

The 31-year-old shot-stopper has been with Spurs since 2012, making more than 250 appearances for the club.
