Chelsea warned of Monaco interest in CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin

CSKA Moscow president Evgeniy Giner says that Chelsea do not have "a closed agreement" for Aleksandr Golovin, who is also interesting Monaco.

CSKA Moscow president Evgeniy Giner has insisted that Chelsea are yet to win the race to sign midfielder Aleksandr Golovin.

Earlier this week, it was suggested that the Blues had edged out both Monaco and Juventus for the Russia international, who has just helped his country reach the World Cup quarter-finals.

However, despite acknowledging that Golovin would leave CSKA this summer, Giner has hinted that Chelsea still have work to do to complete the transfer.

Giner told Sport24: "In order not to ruin [Golovin] we must let him go, but we have no solution for today. When we receive an offer, we always try to negotiate openly.

"Indeed, we were visited by the vice-president of Monaco (Vadim Vasilyev) and made a proposal for Golovin. Chelsea? There is no closed arrangement with them, but the question of his transition to another club will be decided, I think, in the next couple of days."

Golovin has spent the early part of his career with CSKA, netting 13 times in 113 appearances in all competitions.
