Maurizio Sarri: 'EFL Cup win over Liverpool could hinder Chelsea'

Head coach Maurizio Sarri suggests that Chelsea's EFL Cup win over Liverpool could hinder the Blues when they face the Merseyside giants in the Premier League.

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has suggested that Liverpool could be further motivated to beat the Blues in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Sarri watched his side come from behind to earn a 2-1 victory over the Merseyside giants in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening, and the two clubs meet in the top flight again this weekend.

However, Sarri has suggested that his team's success in midweek may prove to be a hindrance when the sides go head to head in West London.

At a press conference, the Italian told reporters: "Maybe they can increase their determination after Wednesday. It will be a difficult match tomorrow. I think they are ready now to win the Premier."

Liverpool have won each of their six matches in the Premier League this season.
