Alan Pardew: 'Papiss Cisse can learn from Fernando Torres'

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that out-of-form striker Papiss Cisse can learn from Chelsea forward Fernando Torres as he attempts to end his barren spell in front of goal.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that Fernando Torres's return to form can act as inspiration to out-of-form striker Papiss Cisse.

Cisse has yet to score for the Magpies this season, and ahead of the club's home fixture with Chelsea, Pardew believes that the Senegalese frontman can take confidence from the recent form of Torres.

The 52-year-old told Sky Sports News: "Papiss can certainly learn from him. Torres has worked really hard to try to find his form and sometimes when you are searching for it, you don't look your best.

"You try too hard to score goals from angles which aren't really on and I think Papiss is fighting that. When he is scoring, we look a great side, but we've got great faith in him and sometimes it just needs to fall into place - and a goal can kick-start that."

Cisse could start the match at St James' Park on the substitutes' bench, with Loic Remy likely to return to the starting lineup after being rested in midweek.
