Joe Pigott signs new Charlton Athletic deal

Joe Pigott signs a new three-year contract with Charlton Athletic.

Joe Pigott has revealed his delight at signing a new three-year contract with Charlton Athletic.

The 19-year-old, who came through the club's youth academy, will now remain with the Championship outfit until at least 2016.

"To commit to the club was exactly what I want to do as a young player so I'm very happy," the striker told the club's official website.

"There are role models all around the club that have come through the academy to play for the first team. It's a great club to be at for any youngster.

"If you have the right mentality as a youngster you give yourself the best chance possible, and being at Charlton, you have that chance."

Pigott scored 22 goals for the club's development squad last season.
