Owen Coyle: Managing Celtic a "marvellous job"

Former Wigan Athletic manager Owen Coyle admits that managing Celtic would be a "marvellous job".

Owen Coyle has admitted that managing Celtic would be a "marvellous job" following Neil Lennon's exit from the Scottish champions.

The former Northern Ireland international announced that he was leaving the Hoops after four years in charge earlier this week, with Coyle emerging as one of the favourites to succeed him.

The former Wigan Athletic manager told BBC Sport: "Glasgow Celtic are a global club, there's no doubt about that, and of course it's a marvellous job.

"Like anything else, the bookies' [odds] change very quickly. I don't think I was the favourite yesterday. I think people put two and two together.

"The bottom line is that it is well-documented that Celtic are my team and that will never ever change."

Former Celtic players Henrik Larsson and Malky Mackay have also been linked to the job, as well as recently-fired Manchester United manager David Moyes.
