Sunderland are reportedly willing to accept an offer worth £15m for winger Jack Clarke, with Premier League sides Burnley and Brentford keen on the 22-year-old.

Sunderland are reportedly prepared to sell Jack Clarke for a fee of £15m, amid interest from Premier League clubs Burnley and Brentford ahead of the January transfer window.

The winger made the permanent switch to the Stadium of Light from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2022 for below £1m after spending the second half of the 2021-22 term on loan at the club.

Clarke enjoyed a stellar first full campaign in the North-East, scoring nine goals and providing 11 assists as the Black Cats managed to secure a top-six place on their return to the Championship.

Tony Mowbray's men were unable to achieve an unlikely promotion to the Premier League, though, losing to Luton Town in the playoff semi-finals by an aggregate score of 4-1.

According to Football Insider, Sunderland have informed potential suitors how much they will have to pay to secure the services of Clarke in the New Year.

The report claims that the Black Cats will not part ways with the 22-year-old for anything less than £15m, with the second-tier club in a good position to drive a hard bargain.

Clarke's current deal at the Stadium of Light expires in the summer of 2026, meaning that Mowbray's side are at no risk of losing the player on a free transfer anytime soon.

It is understood that both Burnley and Brentford are now aware of Sunderland's asking price, as planning for the January transfer window intensifies.

Vincent Kompany's Clarets were reportedly interested in bringing Clarke to Turf Moor during the summer, however Sunderland are said to have rejected a bid in the region of £10m for the attacker.

The Championship winners were supposedly unwilling to go further in their attempts to lure the player to Lancashire, meaning that Burnley moved onto the acquisitions of other targets in forward areas, such as Mike Tresor and Luca Koleosho.

Brentford are also set to be in the race for Clarke in the New Year, with the Bees currently struggling in the top flight without talisman Ivan Toney.

Thomas Frank's Bees have won just one of their opening eight league matches as last season's 20-goal striker continues to serve his eight-month ban for breaking Football Association betting rules.

The Clarets have also managed only the single maximum in 2023-24 so far, however the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea last weekend was already their sixth loss of the term, meaning that they sit 18th in the Premier League standings with four points to their name.

Both looking to secure their second wins of the season, Brentford and Burnley will clash at the Gtech Community Stadium on October 21 following the second international pause of the term.
