Robert Lewandowski: 'Borussia Dortmund must start winning again'

Robert Lewandowski demands that Borussia Dortmund go on a winning run if they are to challenge for the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski has admitted that his side must start winning games again if they are to get close to runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.

Lewandowski said that a win against Hertha Berlin in their final game before the winter break would give them a platform to build on for the second half of the season.

"We all know we need to start winning again," ESPN quotes Lewandowski as saying. "We want to start against Hertha. "We must really get going in the second part of the season and reduce the gap to Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern. We are not allowed to drop any more points.

"Despite my 11 goals, I could have scored many more. That's why I am not satisfied. But that's not only my problem - that applies to the whole team. We did not drop that many points because we played badly but because we were too wasteful in front of goal. That's annoying."

Dortmund are currently five points behind Leverkusen and 12 behind Bayern.
