Balaji Rao reveals that Blackburn Rovers will announce their new manager after Saturday's game against Barnsley.

Managing director of Blackburn Rovers owners Venky's, Balaji Rao, has revealed that the club will announce the appointment of their new manager on Saturday.

Rao claims that Rovers, who sacked Henning Berg as their manager on Thursday, will make the announcement after their Championship clash against Barnsley.

"Yes, we have decided on the new coach and we shall announce his appointment tomorrow after the game," he told Goal.com on Friday.

"No, our new manager is not [Roberto] Di Matteo. However, the new coach does have previous Premier League experience."

Rao added that he is confident that Blackburn will gain promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season.

"Obviously I was disappointed [with the results], and that is why I sacked [Berg]," he said.

"I think we can still make it back into the Premier League and that is why we are changing the manager."

Blackburn are currently seven points above the relegation zone in 17th.
