Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes dedicates his team's title win to his predecessor Carlo Ancelotti.

Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has dedicated his side's Bundesliga title triumph to his predecessor, Carlo Ancelotti.

The German giants wrapped up their sixth successive league title with a 4-1 victory at Augsburg, and their veteran coach was quick to credit the Italian with laying sturdy foundations for him to build on.

"I'd like to send my best wishes to Carlo Ancelotti in Italy," BBC Sport quotes Heynckes as saying. "This title is also for him. He is a fantastic coach."

Heynckes, who is due to retire at the end of the season, replaced Ancelotti last October with the club trailing rivals Borussia Dortmund by five points.

A run of 28 wins in 31 matches since his return helped Bayern clinch the league, and they are still in with a chance of winning a treble, still going strong in the German Cup and the Champions League.
