Holger Badstuber "extremely happy" to be back for Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber reveals his delight after returning to action for this week for the first time since December 2012.

Holger Badstuber has revealed his delight with being back on the pitch for Bayern Munich following a long battle with knee problems.

The 25-year-old had not played a game since December 2012 before starting in two wins this week, and his excitement was clear after helping Bayern to a 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg in their Bundesliga opener on Friday night.

"It is absolutely fantastic to be here and playing in front of a home crowd again. Amazing feeling," Badstuber told reporters. "To come back at the start of the Bundesliga and leave with a win feels so good.

"I've waited a long time for this and I'm extremely happy."

Badstuber, who has won 30 caps for Germany, was out of action due to two ruptures of his cruciate ligament.
