Galatasaray want to sign Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay during the January transfer window, according to a report.

Galatasaray are reportedly working to bring Barcelona attacker Memphis Depay to the club during the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old was widely expected to leave Camp Nou during the recent market, having been pushed down the pecking order at the club due to the summer arrivals.

However, the transfer window closed with the Netherlands international still at Barcelona, and he has made three appearances this season, finding the back of the net on one occasion.

Memphis started Barcelona's league games against Cadiz and Elche in the middle of September, but he has been on the sidelines since due to a thigh problem.

The Dutchman will also miss out against Villarreal in La Liga on Thursday night, but he could potentially be available before the end of the month.

Memphis's contract at Camp Nou is due to expire at the end of June, meaning that he would be free to hold talks with foreign clubs in January.

There remains a host of speculation surrounding his future, as it appears that he is entering the latter stages of his time at Barcelona.

According to Sport, Galatasaray are keen to bring the versatile attacker to Turkey during the January transfer window.

The report claims that Barcelona will not make a decision on Memphis's future until after the World Cup, but Galatasaray have already been in touch to register their interest.

Juventus were believed to be close to signing the forward over the summer, only for the deal to break down at the final moment, while Manchester United and Chelsea were also credited with an interest.

Barcelona have reportedly not ruled out signing Memphis to a new deal on reduced terms, as he showed positive signs for Xavi's side earlier this season.

The former PSV Eindhoven youngster was also in strong form for Barcelona last season, finding the back of the net on 13 occasions in all competitions, including 12 in La Liga.

Since arriving at Camp Nou on a free transfer in the summer of 2021, Memphis has scored 14 goals and registered two assists in 41 appearances in all competitions for the Catalan outfit.

The forward also had an impressive record for Lyon, netting 76 goals and registering 55 assists in 178 appearances for the French outfit, but he ran down his contract with the club in order to leave on a free transfer.
