Tim Sherwood: 'No more Jack Grealish warnings'

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood hopes that young midfielder Jack Grealish has learned his lesson after a couple of unsavoury off-the-field incidents.

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has warned young midfielder Jack Grealish that he is in the last-chance saloon following a number of misdemeanors in recent months.

The highly-rated starlet came under fire in April after being photographed inhaling nitrous oxide, before pictures of him lying unconscious on the ground after a night out in Tenerife emerged two months later.

Grealish turned 20 on Thursday and although Sherwood joked that the youngster would be enjoying a low-key celebration, the Villa boss says that he must now focus on his football.

"Quiet night for Jack tonight! Surely I haven't got to warn him anymore. There's plenty more birthdays out there when he's finished, believe me," he told a press conference.

"He's done brilliant for his age. He's a talented footballer and he's got it all to do. He realises that and realises he hasn't made it yet.

"This is just the beginning for him. If he fulfils his ability then I hope I'm still talking about him in three or four years."

Grealish is expected to return to the squad for Sunday's trip to Leicester City following injury.
