Report: Mesut Ozil wants Arsenal to sign Germany teammate Julian Draxler

Mesut Ozil wants Arsenal to sign Wolfsburg winger and Germany teammate Julian Draxler, according to reports.

Mesut Ozil has asked Arsenal to sign Julian Draxler as a prerequisite for his own contract extension, according to reports.

The 23-year-old has been dropped by Wolfsburg ahead of an expected sale in January after falling out with the club and its fans.

According to French outlet RMC Sport, Ozil is pushing for the Gunners to make the first move in bringing the Germany international to the Emirates Stadium.

Ozil is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal in North London, and reports claim that he would be more likely to sign on the dotted line were he reunited with his international teammate.

Midfielder Ozil and winger Draxler were part of the same Nationalelf side that won the World Cup in 2014.
