Mikel Arteta 'wants to bring Hakan Calhanoglu to Arsenal'

AC Milan attacker Hakan Calhanoglu is a loan target for Arsenal, according to a report.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen for his club to sign AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu on loan for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign.

The Gunners have shown improvement under the leadership of Arteta, losing just one of their five matches since the Spaniard became Unai Emery's official replacement.

The capital outfit are still languishing down in 10th spot in the Premier League table, though, and are expected to bring new players to the club before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

According to The Mirror, Calhanoglu has been identified by the English giants as a potential loan signing as Milan are open to the 25-year-old leaving this month.

The Turkey international has only managed two goals and one assist in 18 appearances for his Italian club during the 2019-20 campaign.

The attacker, who has also turned out for Hamburger SV, Karlsruher and Bayer Leverkusen, has contributed 14 goals in 109 appearances for Milan in all competitions.
